BIOGRAPHY
I am a jewellery designer, maker, wearer and appreciator. I completed a bachelor of visual arts at the Adelaide Centre for the Arts TAFEsa in 2006, after a one year intermission in 2004 when I lived in London and travelled around Europe. These experiences have helped shape the jeweller I am today. When travelling I was captivated by the traditional lampworking in Murano, Italy and since 2005 I have been practicing this traditional art form. Glass, forms an integral part of my practice, I am fascinated by the colour, its malleability when molten, and its fragility and durability when cold.
On completion of my degree I took up residence at Gray Street Workshop as an access tenant. Whilst working there I have been fortunate enough to work alongside a wide range of talented jewellers from emerging to world renowned. In April 2010 I became a Partner in the Workshop joining Catherine Truman and Sue Lorraine in continuing the legacy of workshop and shaping its future.
Gray Street Workshop was established in 1985, as a collectively run studio and access facility for contemporary jewellers and object makers. Through the access bench facility there has been a rich history of over 80 access tenants. I am surrounded by incredible jewellers supporting, encouraging, inspiring and motivating each other through the challenges, joys, hardships and great successes that come with a career in jewellery.
